A conical device is capable of generating freshwater and electricity from seawater.
The 3D MWNT/paper structure allows interfacial evaporation and oxygen reduction reaction.
The device demonstrates a power density of 13.50 W·m-2 and an evaporation rate of 1.53 kg·m-2·h-1 under 1 sun.
Adjusting the concentration or types of ions in seawater achieves higher electrical power
