  • The highest efficiency of 9.66% was obtained for cell with NiO-Pt electrode.

  • Bimetallic PtSe nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) are prepared by dry plasma reduction.
  • The electrocatalytic activity as well as electric conductivity is significantly enhanced.
  • The highest efficiency is recorded from DSC employed Pt0.5Se0.5/RGO CE.
  • The strategy is for optimizing Pt utilization in PV-device using bimetallic nanoparticles.
